"WHY does downtown revitalization matter?"
Have you ever visited a boarded-up downtown with crumbling old buildings and empty storefronts? That can happen anywhere if a community does not unite with the common goal of bringing its downtown back to life!
A downtown is a city's image to the outside world. You cannot have a strong town without a strong downtown. Strong downtowns cultivate community pride and encourage additional positive growth and investment.
Vibrant downtowns attract new residents and businesses, increasing property values and enhancing quality of life for everyone.
Wadsworth residents, visitors, and businesses all want a walkable, fun, beautiful downtown to enjoy, shop, dine, gather, work, and share with family, friends, and colleagues. This cannot happen without intentional efforts and partnerships between a county, municipality, and an economic development organization like Main Street Wadsworth. "It takes a village" becomes "It takes a small town with a big heart" to create (and maintain) an unmatched downtown experience!
